Now for the Interview of the Century. I think this is my favorite interview I have ever done to date.
Darragh: My thanks for the invitation to be
here today, fine lady. I understand ye have met my lovely Tisa.
Kimi - Yes, I have spoken to Tisa and she
is indeed a lovely lady. Tadhg?
Tadhg leans forward: Beg pardon? Do ye ask if I agree
that Tisa is lovely? I do indeed agree.
Darragh: Methinks ye have misunderstood the
question, friend.
Tadhg: Methinks not! And I am certainly
not yer friend.
Darragh rolls his eyes and faces
Kimi: Mayhap
ye would be so kind as to restate the question for our slow friend here?
Tadhg straightens in his seat. His
face tight: Ye
believe ye alone can see her loveliness? That ye alone can see what is more
obvious than the sun in the sky? That ye alone can see that Tisa's loveliness
rivals even the breaking forth of that same sun after a dark and stormy night?
That she is indeed more beautiful than the sun's rays on a warm spring day?
The awkward silence that follows
leaves Kimi not quite sure how to break the overwhelming tension oozing from these two warriors.
Darragh: Yer interest in my wife seems a bit
misplaced. For what purpose do ye speak so of my wife?
Another long pause follows,
emotions flitting across Tadhg's face as he struggles for composure. Kimi's
heart goes out to him deciding to continue as if nothing untoward had taken
place.
Kimi: So Tadhg tell us of your clan. The
MacNaughtons?
Tadhg holds up his hand: Beg pardon, lovely lady. Certainly
I overstep my bounds as a mere childhood friend of Tisa's. Darragh is correct that
I have no right to speak so of another's wife. What were ye asking me?
Kimi shifts in her chair: I was merely welcoming you, Tadhg.
So sorry for the misunderstanding.
Darragh: 'Twas no misunderstanding! He bellows as he stands Coveting
another's wife is no small thing! I demand yer apology to both me and my wife.
Tadhg stands, his face a mere few
inches from Darragh's: My
only apology is to the fine lass who has invited us here to learn more about
us. She alone deserves my apology Tadhg
offers a beaming smile to Kimi and slight bow before turning back to Darragh.
She blushes prettily. Tadhg continues: Ye, on the other hand, are nothing
more than a beef witted oaf! An oaf
who would indeed begrudge his wife the respect and admiration of those around
her. Who orders her around—allowing yer own father to belittle her! Ye treat
her as if she were of no consequence at all! Ye deserve nothing from me!
Tadhg sits, his lips tight. Darragh
does the same, his face red with indignation.
Kimi coughs.
Kimi: So how about some refreshments?
Tea? I have the cutest little minion cups!
