Mary Morgan Interview

Mary Morgan Interview

~ I had the pleasure of interviewing a new to me author, Mary Morgan. And I have to tell you, she is just a wonderful person. Her book "The Dragon Knights Sword" can be found on Amazon.

~ Before I show you my interview, I wanted to tell you about the parties I went to last month online.

I had the pleasure of several book release parties and I tell you, It was fun. The Authors ask questions, or have you caption certain pictures, and so on. You actually learn so much about them. They become real and not just a writer. You find they are quite funny and are busy bee's. I mean holding down a job then also writing, then going on Facebook to promote their release by having a party. Giving away tons of wonderful gifts, from Books, to shirts and swag.

Then you get to meet other readers. Oh I have met a few and they are wonderful men & women. I have had so much fun. If you want to keep in the loop for parties, follow me on Facebook or on Twitter. I will be posting all the parties I get invited to so you can go to them as well. Believe me, you will have a blast and heck, you might win something.

~ So now for my interview of my sweet and great new author to me, Mary Morgan. She will be one to look for in the future.

Read on after the interview for my Review of her book.

1. Tell us about yourself?

I am a constant daydreamer and have been told quite often to remove my head from the clouds. Yet, this is where I find the magic to write my stories. Not only do I love to weave a good tale, but I have a voracious appetite for reading. I worked for Borders Books for almost fourteen years. Imagine my delight to be surrounded by so many books, talking to others about them, and getting paid -- pure bliss!
I have traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, and France. There are those who know me well when I say, “My heart is in the Highlands.” I believe I have left it there, or maybe in Ireland. When not writing, I enjoy playing in my garden–another place where magic grows. Of course, there is time spent with my family. They are the ones that keep me grounded.

2. Tell us about your just released book?

Dragon Knight's Sword is a paranormal, time-travel romance. Here is the blurb:

Can the soul of a wounded warrior find love when he has destroyed the life of another?

Duncan Mackay will do anything to lift the curse from his family — even forfeit his own life. But his plans change when he encounters the woman from his dreams, literally. She is from the future, somehow has his lost sword, and can talk to the Dragon that is able to lift his family’s curse.

Brigid O'Neill has spent her life listening to the mythological legends from Ireland and Scotland. So, when an ancient sword lands at her doorstep and she starts dreaming of a rugged Highlander, she drops everything and takes on a quest that will alter everything she believes.

Before their journey ends, not only will Duncan and Brigid battle an ancient curse, they must also find the courage to believe in the destiny that brought them together.

3. When naming your characters, do you give any thought to the actual meaning?

Absolutely! They have to feel right for the character. I have always loved the name of Duncan. Being a huge fan of the "Highlander" television series there could only be one: Duncan Mackay. For my heroine, her heritage comes from Ireland, so I wanted one that speaks of the land and magic. Brigid O'Neill was a perfect choice.

4. Thinking ahead to the series you are creating. Would you choose just one book for a movie or would you want to wait till the book series is done then make them all into a movie?

Great question! I would want to wait until the book series is completed. With my series, there will be questions that won't get answered until the fourth and fifth book. Besides, I love all my characters, (working on book 4) and their stories.

5. What is your favorite book, or the "one" book that inspired you to write.

I have several favorites: Hawaii by James Michener and Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The inspiration to write has always been inside of me, but it was hidden. Once I opened the well, the stories and characters came forth.

6. Do you have any tips for our readers that might dream of writing?

It doesn't matter if you write 100 or 1,000 words per day. The most important part is to write every day. It keeps the flow of inspiration alive.

Thank you, Kimi, for hosting me on your blog today. I hope you and your readers enjoyed a glimpse into my life and those of Duncan and Brigid's, too. My Review of:

Dragon Knights Sword ~ Mary Morgan

This is a very well done book. It is a Time Travel, action, learning to heal your heart Book. Duncan and Brigid, well they were thrown together but work off each other well. Brigid is reeling from thrown back in time 800 years. Duncan is the kind of man you want saving you. The chemistry is spot on and you will not be able to put this book down.

I have to say Brigid is a funny girl, mouthy too. Though in reality, if any of this happened to you, you would react the same way. I like that she received the sword and it helps with the whole of the story. It makes it more fun.

Duncan is trying to remove the curse he had placed on himself and his brothers. They are part of the Dragon Knights, the Keepers of ancient relics. Duncan want to give up his life to save his brothers from the curse. When he heads to the druid to find out what he needs to do to accomplish this, the druid lets him know, and Duncan doesn't like it. Duncan has a spacial ability and sometimes is too emotional to control it.

They have enemies they have to fight, and conquer. The side characters, LOVED them.I loved the book and can see this series a huge hit. I am so happy to have read this book and have a new author to add to my list. Watch out for this lady and keep updated on her books. It is so worth it. I mean Dragons, Druids, Fae and Highlanders all in one book. How can you go wrong.
