Book Reviews

A Knight's Vengeance ~ Catherine Kean

Geoffrey feels he must do whatever it takes to get back what he feels was unlawfully taken from him. The man of his anger has a beautiful daughter and decides to take her and make her father give him back what was taken from him.

I liked the book and it kept me reading. The book for the most part is mostly on them two and towards the middle/end you start to see other enemies come out. The jealous mistress, the evil betrothed, etc. The book does do a good job on plot and will keep you wondering what happens next. But for a read all day and night kind of book, it is not. I would deff want to read the next book in line.

My Champion ~ Glynnis Campbell

I never laughed so hard in my life. This book was so much fun to read. The bantering back and forth kept me rolling and wanting more. I loved this book. So exciting, funny, and sweet. You never want to stop reading, really, because she has you either laughing or wondering what could POSSIBLY happen next to top the previous. Then there is the fighting and saving and the rescues, the blumbers, and so much more.

I cannot say enough about this book. Take the time, read it.

The Thunder Lord ~ Kathryn Le Veque

Gallus and Jeniver story was good. You love all the side characters and omg the mom is great. You want to see what happens to them all. The story has a royal political aspect to it. You also get to see old favorites pop in and get to love new knights. I can say without a doubt that I read the whole book. I liked the book. I will deff get the next book, cause I have to know what happens next. Do not just read this book without reading the 2nd and 3rd when it comes out. You will short change yourself if you do.

A Highland Knight's Desire ~ Amy Jarecki

I happen to be a fan of Amy's and this does not disappoint. I love this book. Starts out with a bang, takes on a roller coaster of a ride. The action is spot on, story line is great, Characters are fun. You will not want to put it down. The lengths they have to go through and emotionally put themselves through, makes this a good read.

Duncan and Meg were meant for each other. even if they both deny it. As far as I am concerned this is a must read book. You do not need to read book one to know whats going on. This book can stand alone on its own just fine. Take the time and read this book, if it is your first time reading Amy you will love it and want more.

Just in Time for a Highland Christmas ~ Dawn Marie Hamilton

I just read Just in Time for a Highland Christmas by Dawn Marie Hamilton . I have to say I so enjoy getting her books. I really do, I look forward to seeing what adventure she might take me on. Where will she take me or should I say when?

Archibald so much a man yet forgiving and protective. Isobell is angry, lost and scared. the road to each others heart is a long one but worth it.

This was a wonderful match, a fun story and a great plot. I loved being taken to the future, seeing the relief on all when the truth was out. If you get a chance read this series. Dawn Marie Hamilton does a good job at showing you about fae and brownies. You will fight, laugh, run and walk in awe of these story's.

Lachlan's Revenge ~ R.L. Syme

I just loved this book. From beginning to epilogue. It was fun and so much deception. Who was playing who. What would the outcome be? Can you figure out whats gonna happen before ity happens. I love books like this. I started this book last night and finished about 40 minutes ago.

You think at first he has gone nutty, stealing a girl to marry her. Just to stop her father from warring with him. But then as the book progresses. You just sit and watch as the book unfolds. Then there is a lot of "Oh dam, that gotta suck" kind of situations. I just couldn't put it down. All the characters were fun, especially his adult/married daughter. lmao What I wouldn't give to be in the room with her and her father at times.

Anyways, the book has a great plot, story progressed wonderfully and the H/H were totally believable. It was just a fun book.

Blossom ~ Cathy Jackson

This story picks up where bloom left off. It is about an abused woman who finds true love. This one starts on her wedding. Where she is learning that even though you find your love evil can still haunt you. Scars on the outside may heal but whats inside does not always. With love, understanding and patients from your loved ones you may be able to over come them, but you have to look. I mean really look. I truly love this series by Cathy Jackson. If you have ever been in this situation then you know whats it is like and you know someone this may help you understand it more. I am so happy to have been able to read this book and give a review.

It is well written, deep, emotional and loving. You go through so many things in this book that you feel like you are a part of it. It is worth getting, and even more so reading it.

Highlander's Magic ~ Joanne Wadsworth

WOW, what can I say? This is a great book. Love the storyline. Plot is wonderful and it makes you wish for more at the end. I cannot wait to read the next book. I am just itching for more. Archie MacDonald and Marie MacLean are a great pair and OMG the way they talk to each other. I laughed and loved and just about rooted for this clan and these two. I would deff recommend this book to anyone who likes Time travel.

From the beginning to the end you are wrapped up into a world of Fae, Time Travel and Highlanders. The action is spot on and you love all the side characters. They way she portrays Marie, well I think all of us would do about the same. I mean we are 20th century women and that is roughly 600 years ago. We would be a little more out spoken. More open to things that women of that ara would not.

Warrior and the Wanderer ~ Elizabeth Holcombe

This is a great book. First I like to say that usually, at least for me, see time travel with women always going back in time. Having it reversed is a great aspect. It was great reading the heroine and hero bicker and hide their feelings. The idea of being around people who are, what you believe, not all there upsatirs. Both of them thinking this of each other. I couldn't put it down.

You got this arrogant guy, yet somewhat depressed from his fall from fame. Then you have the Hot tempered about to die female. Who thinks this man her enemy.

Try as you might, you cannot stop reading. You have mystery, revenge, laughter, and love all rolled into a simply well written book.

Unbound by Sara Humphreys

Really good book, Let me start off saying I do not like reading books of the last 500 years or so. I like my Historical's, anything before 1400/15 century. I did however like this book, Short you say? Hmmm, I don't agree. With this story you get love, mystery, betrayal, freedom. You get to live another life and have fun doing it. I did not feel it was short at all. I felt like I got a story that continued on after I was done reading. This is the first book from this author for me. I guess I will have to see what book 1 is like now. Yes If you like Paranormal this has it (I do love paranormal), if you like staying in todays world, this has it. If you like reading fun, exciting books then get this one.

Highlander's True Love ~ Donna Fletcher

If I could give this book a ten I would. Donna has brought me back to Dawn and Cree in such a wonderful way. You feel their love for each other and at the same weave a story. Both of which will keep you reading. Oh how I love these two characters. There is mystery, and definitely some Cree action. Dawn is still her wonderful nosy self and does not let things go. She has a huge heart and does not let Cree stop her when she wants something. I was oh so happy to see the side characters. The ones you miss because they are also part of the story from the trilogy. I am so happy I read this.

Highland Storm ~ Victoria Zak

Conall and Effie, this is their story and you will love it. She brings so much into this book and does not disappoint you at all. You have Love, Adventure, Betrayal, and Mystery. Evil people and Hard roads don’t seem to slow them down.

When you pick this book up, you will not want to put it down. She has done it again with this book and if I could say they get better with every new book I would but that does not mean the others cannot compare. This is one lady to follow, Her books, and her fans will love it.

At The Laird's Command (Sword and Thistle Book 3) ~ Laurel Adams

I have to say that this book does not disappoint at all. John and Heather continue in this book, you see the struggles, the happiness and defeats. You will love this book, it brings out emotions and understanding you never knew you had. The story line itself is great and I am so happy I got to read this book. I cannot wait to see whats next for this Author.

John and Heather realize they love each other but not as you and I see how love should be but how it is. Doesn't matter who is there or not, who is a part of you or not. Unconditional love. That's really hard to find in any life, so when you have it and it makes you happy, then that's all that matters. You might think he is a brutal man and she is a submissive, but reality is they are what each other needs and they feed off each other. They help make each other whole.

Highland Intrigue (Duncurra Book Book 3) ~ Ceci Gilienan

Lady Gillian MacLennan's clan needs a leader, but the last person on earth she wants as their laird is Fingal Maclan. This book has a great story line and some really good twists. I loved Fingal and so happy he got his book. The story keeps you interested and you get pulled into it. Fingal can be a bit hard headed and so can Gillian, but they were meant for each other and eventually they learn it. But the process is the fun part. You think you know who is doing all the bad things and you may be right, but the twists in the book also makes you wrong on some things. At least it did me. You will love this book and love walking along with both Gillian and Fingal.

Love Letters from Largs: Brodie and Celestina (Clan Grant series Book 3) ~ Keira Montclair

Celestina is an abused Lady by her father, and then also by her husband. Brodie comes across this wonderful lady trying to kill herself. He ends up falling in love with her and before she marries her betrothed, She and Brodie secretly become handfasted. They are so meant for each other. This story makes you want keep reading from the beginning. The story line is great and there is nothing you won’t do to help this lady. The side characters are just awesome. I loved this book and would so recommend it to all. I laughed, teared up, got upset and decided I needed to become a Grant warrior.

Beast: Great Bloodlines Converge ~ Kathryn Le Veque

What to say that has not been already said by so many others. I just love her books and sit waiting for them to come out. She happens to be the kind of writer that I cannot just read one book. I have to read at least two at a time. I cannot stop the emotions she brings forth when I dive into her books. The beauty and turmoil I am in when I read this one was no different. It makes me not want to stop. I have to keep going and pick up another book.

I was swept away by how she drew me in and made me a part of the story. How she made me feel everything that was going on around. You could see feel and touch it all,. I loved every part of this book and loved seeing or reading about everyone, from past to current. This book will pull you in and never let go.

Highlander Unchained (Highlander Trilogy Book 1) ~ Donna Fletcher

I have to say this is my favorite series. Besides Donna being one of my favorite authors, she really does write well and keep you sucked into her books.

This one is no different. It is a start of a series about Cree and Dawn. Someone is out to get Dawn, they want her dead. She has no idea why either. Being mute and a peasant makes for everyone to wonder what she truly knows to have this target on her back.

Cree is only there to get what he has wanted for a very long time. A title and heirs. What he doesn't realize is he finds something more in Dawn. A mute woman who has got him and he will do all he can to find and kill the person trying to hurt his Dawn.

It is an absolutely great plot, and so much twists, and turns. Who dunnits, and in the process learning who you are as a person. I cannot say enough about this series. I would recommend this to all who want to disappear into another world of mystery in the Scottish highlands of medieval times. I am off to read book two for the 5th time.

Forbidden Highlander (Highlander Trilogy Book 2) ~ Donna Fletcher

This happens to be the second book in her Highland Trilogy and another awesome book. She continues with Dawn and Cree trying to figure out who is trying to kill Dawn. She also has a few bumps in the road. Cree is very protective of Dawn and is trying really hard not to lose his heart to her. Dawn has a surprise for him and scared he will not be happy with the news.

Dawn and Cree are my favorite characters and this series is done really well. The mystery and who dunnit is fun to try and figure out. They do solve the problem but at the end another arises.

This series is my go to series. When I need a good books to read these are them. You will love this one along with the first.

Enemy of the Highlander ~ Kate Robbins

From the start of this book to the end you are captivated. You are now looking into the life of the sister (Freya)  and her love for a man (Ronan) she did  not want, or maybe she does but knows it's better to say no.

Ronan is broken hearted and has done some horrible things but did what was best for him and his clan.

Now his Uncle is there to lay Claim to his clan and Ronan has to go to Freya's Clan to ask for support in getting his Clan back. In the process finds out if he is still in love o trusts her again.

I loved this book. It was great from beginning to end. It has action, love, passion, heartache. It has everything you want in a book. It is a well written book with a great plot. All the characters are great, and you fall in love with Ronan. You find out what kind of life he really had and understand him so much more. You may have hated him in the second book, but you wont in this one.

If you have not read the series it is a MUST READ. I hate waiting for the next book but it is so worth it when this lady puts pencil to paper.

The Dressmaker's Duke ~ Jess Russell

I would like to start by saying this is not my Genre, though I have read books in this genre before it is not something I usually read. That said it is a good book. The story was strong, and well written. The plot is really good. I liked the side characters just fine. You always have your fav side character, and I had mine. Egg, just loved her.
I think my only issue is with the characters. H/H were too deep/complex, and in the process I lost the connection of them. Do not get me wrong it is a good book and well done but at times I felt no connection with the H/H. The Hero was in this case tortured soul from a young age, I also felt the Heroine was a soft and sweet, yet standoffish sort. She of course had her reasons why and rightly so. There were times though, in the book, that was good between them. Like when they played their games who could out do the other.

Bloom ~ Cathy Jackson

This book was from the start a kind of book that pulls you in and wont let you go. It brings emotions you never knew you had and love from deep within your own being. It was well written and the plot is something not can understand but have at least heard of from one person we know. I know what this ladt went through and can say without a doubt it touched a part of me that will never be the same. I was shocked at how much the author could get Phee's feelings across, almost like she was Phee in a lifetime. And to have someone like John watching over her, wow. I want that from a man.
I loved every part of that book and will add it to my reread when I need a pick me up. It will be a part of me for some time to come.

King Arthur's Sister in Washington's Court ~ Kim Iverson Headlee

I love Time travel books, mostly read time going backwards, not forwards. So this was a pleasant surprise. Morgan and the baseball story line was a bonus, and you really feel what the characters go through. The story line is solid and you find yourself wanting to read more. I know in each book I read about travel the character is always trying to get back to the future, now I am dealing with this one wanting to go back to their time in the past. It is interesting and I think a new spin off of time travel. If you like medieval type characters and want to see how they would be in the future, this is the book. Really how do you think you would be? I say take the chance and read the book. You will like it.

Dragon Knight's Medallion ~ Mary Morgan

The hero is kind of hot and noble but doesn't really feel it. I liked the whole book. It can sit as a stand alone because it explains enough to understand what transpired in previous book. It has all the things you want. I loved all the characters, side ones as well. I almost cried when ......oops, you don't get to see that part. I loved the interaction between the hero and heroine. I don't know why it was such a great book and made me want to be with Stephen, He is just a hunk and someone you want to jump on and tackle. Allie is wonderful too. When she realizes she has what he needs, Wow. Then there is Ian, OMG I just loved the boy. I will have to read again. This is a great book, very intense, loving, laughing, and crying.

Highlander's Rebellious Love ~ Donna Fletcher

Donna has done it again. A book worth reading over and over again. Strong Heroine and Hero. I laughed and got angry and fell in love. If I could have a man, I would want him like Hunter. He is strong, and protective yet knows the strength of his mate and lets her be who she is. This story is only getting better and I cannot wait for the last book. Believe me this is worth buying and reading. But I have yet to find a book of her's not worth reading.

Snow in July ~ Kim Iverson Headlee

I liked this book, though it was a bit much on the paranormal. I still found the characters and the storyline solid. This book takes you to a place where you are in wonder and awe. Sadness and pain, but most of all you feel you can be a part of the story. You get surprises at every turn and sometimes not what you expect. Sometimes you have to do what you don't want too and find you are most happy because of it. I liked this book and hope you all do to when you read it. I will be looking for this authors other books in the future.

Celtic Fury ~ Ria Cantrell

I totally loved this book, sweet and loving. Yet at times it was dark and brooding. Rory & Brielle has everything against them, Clans, hatred, and love, yet they are able to over come everything thrown in their path.

Rory's first love died at the hands of a Campbell and he blames himself. After years he has built up a dark part in him and it is almost taking over

Brielle is in a loveless marriage and has been abused by her brothers for years, yet she is still a forgiving loving person.

Take a ride with both of them. Feel what they went through and where they will go. This is the first in the Celtic Storm Series, and it is just wonderful. I am now onto the next book. I am so glad I have this series and I cannot wait for the next book Knight Storm. The fourth book in this series.

Her Highlander's Promise ~ B.J. Scott

I had to wait till the book was out before I could post my review and here it is.   Her Highlander's Promise, Is a wonderful story of love conquers all. You meet the hero and heroine at a young age but they know what they want. Years later they they meet up again, but this time it is under unfortunate circumstances. I love the hero and heroine. I love books that have them like each other from the start and not at each other throats constantly. You get swept away with the heroine and what she goes through that you start to root for the hero to get done what needs to be. There is surprises at every turn and the book is just as wonderful to read. I started this book and read it non stop, for hours. If I could make one change it would be Laurel MacCay name be changed to Kimberley Court. Just a thought? Anyways If you have not gotten this book you must. It is truly a great love story with Revenge and wrongs righted.

Devil's Dominion ~ Kathryn Le Veque

Emotional and Intense. Kathryn takes you through a roller coaster of a ride of emotions. You have a love hate relationship. Though you want to put the book down, not to read every single word and savor it. You unfortunately cannot. This book pulls you in and lets you live with what is happening around you. Feeling everything the hero and heroine feels and does. The other side characters are as wonderful and legendary as always. I believe this book is deservedly, a sequel to the Dark Lord. It will bring you everything you want and hold you to it, all the way to the end.

Highlander Avenged ~ Laurin Wittig

This was as good as the first. I loved it from the start. Continuing on where the first left off. I was happy with the story and where she took it. I was whisked away in the story of Malcolm and Jeanette. Following them as they went on their quest of what place Jeanette had in the clan. Followed Malcolm as he tried to figure out what to do and who he really was.

It has everything you want in a book and keeps you reading. When you set the book down you find your mind wondering back to it and requiring you to finish reading it. I don't think a lengthy review is needed here. Just know when you get this book you will walk away very much a part of it.

Romantic Comedy ~ You're in Good Hands with Al Tate ~ Deborah Gafford

I want to start of by saying; this genre is not something I normally read. I like my paranormal/Historical, Romances. I was asked to do a review on this and so I will.

Let me say that if this is what I have to base 5 star books off of, then I will be posting a lot of 3 or 4 star reviews in the future. This lady draws you into her book and keeps you there. You are so part of the story that you only want to keep going, but you also don't want it to stop. I would compare her to Kathryn Le Veque, Donna Fletcher and Suzan Tisdale just to name a few. The women I admire and love reading.

She has a great story, flows really well and the story keeps you reading. You don't even know you're reading a Novella. I highly recommend this book. I am happy I had the chance to review this book. I would have missed out on a great book had she not asked me too.

Warrior Untamed ~ Melissa Mayhue

Like all her books this is just as great. One of my Favorite characters in this series. I liked Hall from the previous book.

This is a great read. Love the story line, the flow is done well and I am hooked into her books. ALL of them. Hall and Bridget make for a fun ride. It has everything you want and more. Bickering, laughs, action, quests. Like all her books once you start reading you wont be able to put it down.

I was not fond of Bridget in the previous book. I don't know why I just was not. But this book redeemed her and made her someone I would totally understand. Hall is as always yummy and so mysterious. But all that changes. A must read book.

Stronger Than Magic (House of Xannon Book 1) ~ Melinda VanLone

I truly was not sure what to expect when I seen this book. It was given to me for an honest review. I sat back and decided to read it and see if I liked it. It is a Paranormal, which I like, modern day, which I don't like, and magical, which I like. I was a bit worried, it being modern day and all that I wont like it at all. BUT low and behold I loved this book. It has everything you want in a book. It keeps you glued to the pages. It's not boring and it is well done. The story itself is fun. I mean you can see yourself as this young lady. Magic, murder, deception, mystery. And the best thing (for me at least) a quest. Yes I am happy I read this book. I am now on to the next story in this line.

Finding Fllame ~ Melinda VanLone

Great book for a short story. You don't have to read the first book to read this one. She is able to take you through Macari's growth and understand the world in which she comes from better. I would suggest this series to anyone who like Paranormal books. Like her other book, it's a mystery and you help get to solve it along the way.

Cild of Awe ~ Kathryn Lynn Davis

This story is about Muriella Calder, a child born to inherit a great fortune. She is being hunted by everyone. Some want to marry her off and others want to kill her off. I liked this book. The flow was well done and kept you reading.

This book has mystery, action, love, tears and so much more. You grow up with Muriella, and feel her as she goes through everything that has happened to her. John Campbell the second son of the Earl is betrothed to the young lady and is a reluctant as she is with the marriage but for different reasons. You really need to read this book. I believe you will like it as much as I did.

The Spirit Guide ~ Elizabeth Davies

This is a good story, It is also from Seren's point of view. I am not quite use to books like this. I like to get in everyone's head. Though she does do well with capturing the mood of others and telling of the story. It is a Mystery Paranormal Historical Romance. Yes it is good and yes you will want to read it.

It has everything you want in a book, handsome Hero, a heroine who can see and interact with ghosts, Murder, Mystery, and HEA. This author is new to me and I received a book for an Honest review. I have to say I will be looking into other books of hers. I am glad I was able to do this.

I think the only part for me that was difficult was in the beginning. I was having a tough time figuring out who were ghosts and who were not. Once I got that down the rest of the book flowed well.

Fredrick's Queen ~ Suzan Tisdale

I so loved Fredrick's Queen. I believe that is a new Fav, (But Wee William will always be first). This book took me by complete surprise. Aggie went from being a victim to being a survivor.  Fredrick is just as aww as always. Though sometimes you want to bash him over the head with his not ask first but react first.

You have a wonderful woman beaten down over time by her father and clansmen. Both by hand and words. She descends into a mute and shy woman. Afraid of any man, and does not feel she will ever find someone to love her as she is damaged goods.

Fredrick wants a wife, Family and be a Chief of a Clan and decides it's time to get it. He see's a beautiful woman and finds her smile is overwhelmingly beautiful.

When in the keep, listening to the Beautiful woman's Father say he needs someone to marry his daughter to become Chief of his clan. Fredrick's chimes in and offer's for her hand. Of course he really doesn't know what is in for him at this point. He is only thinking he can now have it all. Everything he wanted in one shot.

Fredrick and Aggie are wonderful and fun. The growth over the entire book of both of them. It is amazing. I just sat back and felt like I was part of it. I yelled at Fredrick when he didn't stop the think before he spoke and I wanted to hold Aggie when all her pain came to light. You have mystery, Action, and some times even laughing at the both of them.

Now add the side characters and you have an awesome book. You created people we all can understand in one way or another and made me fall in love with Airlig (I hope I spelt that right). I hope to find Ian and Rose in a story soon. This was a 5 star book. I completely loved it.

The Bride and the Brute ~ Laurel O'Donnell

This book was good. I mean it felt like a novel almost. It had a solid story line, characters you loved and hated, and a HEA ending. I now want to know what is going to happen to the brother and sister. I hope this author decides to keep going with this as a series.

I thought Lord Reese Harrington was someone who has had a troubled past and couldn't get further without figuring out his own issue's. He needed to get past them and was finally able to. When he realized how much of an ass he was, he went after the one thing that tried so hard to show him she could be a good wife. Jayce Cullen went out of her way to prove herself a good wife. I personally would have hit him over the head. I wanted to several times.

I highly recommend this book. You will love it.

Netherworld ~ Kathryn Le Veque

I have to say this right. Because this book is just..... I don't think I can put the right words to do this book justice. I loved it from the start. The Prologue to the Epilogue. You will fall in love instantly, with both Keller and Chrystobel.

How can I tell you that when you start reading you wont be able to put it down. How can I tell you that she brings you into her book and takes you with her as she writes. I have said these things so many times. It's true each time, but with this book I am in awe. It is a book that will stay with you even after you read it. With Kathryn Le Veque you usually cannot just read one book. Now I am sitting here wondering if I should read it again. I am also sitting here thinking of this book and loving so much. It has brought tears to my eyes. It is a very emotional book, with vengeance and finding ones own heart and self worth.

If I could put into words how great this book is, I believe I would be complete. All I can say is Thank You Kathryn for this book and for allowing us reader's to see into a world that is beyond us. The ability to be someone else and go somewhere else. You are a gifted writer and I am glad I am a Minion of yours.

Rowan's Lady ~ Suzan Tisdale

Rowan and Arline, You will love them. This book is a great start to the Clan Graham. You have a mystery, action and laughter, rolled into an awesome book. I couldn't put it down. Last night I stayed up till wee hours reading this book and then woke up to finish it off. It was that good. Rowan's Daughter is such a cutie. I wanted one of her for my own. How does she do it, how does she continue to create wonderful books that you cannot resist reading hours on end. Highly recommended.

The Highland Bride's Choice ~ Amanda Forester

I absolutely loved it. It's a novella and I so felt like it was a novel. I wondered how it would end and hoped I didn't have to go and rewrite it (Giggle, like I could...ha ha) Anyway If you want to read a truly good book, short but doesn't feel like it and have some awesome guy come in and swoop you off your feet. This is the one. It's funny, and sweet and so many other things. I am giving it 5 stars. Will have to read it again. JUST AN FYI, Amazon has it free right now. Go grab you copy. You will not be disappointed. Thank You Amanda for the wonderful read.

The Questing ~ Kathryn le veque

Kathryn has done it again. Another awesome book. You will laugh cry, be on the edge of your seat. I was truly stuck to the book like glue. I loved every character and as usual she lets you walk in the shoes of each person. You feel what they do and walk where they walk. This is a book of Questing. She takes you on a journey, the journey is different for each person. But the end result is the same. They all need closer. Surprise character's show up and you feel like the story has just broadened. I loved this book and Highly recommend this book to everyone.

Just Once in a Verra Blue Moon ~ Dawn Marie Hamilton

I loved this book. It is well done and takes you back and forth through time without making you feel lost or confused. You enjoy Finn and Elspeth and the path they have to walk. I love fae books and with this one you have it all. Fae, time travel, mystery, action, danger, and so much more. Plus she does a lovely romance mixed in there.

I cannot wait till the next book (Just Wait for Me) to come out. I want to see what happens next. I don't want to give too much out because honestly it is a book you have to read. To tell you anything gives a lot away. However, you will love the fact that it is a man that goes back in time and meets his future.

I give this book 5 Stars. It is well worth Kindle Price: $4.99.

My Highland Spy ~ Victoria Roberts

I read this book and have to say that Victoria Roberts has done it again. I loved this book. You have the main characters who meld together and yet are feisty. I love a good book that makes you laugh and two people who like each other but refuse to admit it to themselves. They start making sarcastic remarks and such. That makes a great book. The book also makes for a great spy book. I mean You have a female go in and see if the male is doing bad things. Comes to find out the female is falling for the male and the male is falling for the female. Neither want to be doing what they are and neither will admit when what they are seeing is really not what is happening.

Did I confuse you? Well if I did then buy the book and see what I mean. PreOrder the book now on Amazon. Then when it comes out on Sept 2nd you will have it at 12:01 AM

Anyway this book has a great story line, done really well and will keep you glued to the book. I am waiting patiently for the next book to come out because I will be one clicking that.

Highland Burn ~ Victoria Zaks

This book is the first for this author. You will be happy to know your money will be well spent with her book. She is able to write a great book. You feel like you are a part of the book. You feel everything Abigale feels, and understand James plight.

I felt this book from the beginning  to the end. My kindle lost battery as I was close to the end. I can tell ya, I was not happy about it at all. I didn't want to stop reading. I mean really a Half human half Dragon. A Highlander ta boot. Great Story line, fight scenes and an over all well written book.

I will be on the one click button when her next book comes out. This book is worth every penny. Go get it. See what I mean.

Beauty and the Barbarian ~ Amy Jaricki

Let me start by saying I love her books. She can write just about anything and I think she would suck me in. This book was so good. I liked that in the end everyone had to eat their words. How anyone would allow anyone else to be treated like this is beyond me, but it happens even to this day.

This is a story about Ian MacLoed trying to earn his place back in his clan. His brother, The clan chief, doesn't know what is going on but learns through sources. Ian is on the run from his uncle. His uncle has a death sentence for him, for taking his bride and sending her back to her clan. Thus embarrassing him. Men and their pride, huh...

The Heroine is Merrin, and she was born with a birthmark. Since her mother died due to childbirth sickness everyone blamed the baby, so she and her father lived on a small island away from the clan. She was considered the devils spawn, a witch.

Ian ends up on the small island almost dead. I read this book in less than 24 hours. Yes it is THAT good. It was action, redemption, understanding and forgiveness. Learning how much one person can take and give. I really like this book and cannot wait for the next one. I wish only one thing for this book., That it never ended. I just wanted to keep reading. I am not sugar coating it or trying to earn bonus points. I really did not want this book to end. I wanted to know everything about them and there future. If you have a chance to read her series. Don't just pick up book 1, get them all. It will be so worth it.

My Soul to Keep: Calen (Volume 1) ~ Jennifer Smith

2.5 Stars ~ It is a Paranormal Historic Romance with a lot going on. For all you sex lovers there is no short supply of it. But I think it is balanced enough with the action and mystery. It has Witches, Warlocks, Highlanders and time travel. This book keeps you busy for sure, but it has a good base in my opinion. There is a HEA of sorts because it is a trilogy you understand the next book will continue where this one left off. With the side characters of this book.

The bad part about this book is what is also good about it. Too busy, has too many story lines, the same one in different ways. Murder, Warlocks, Witches, Golden Child, Side Characters, just trying to keep up is hard. It can cause you to lose your place if you are not focused.

The Hero and Heroine are wonderful and even though they fall fast it is still believable. I did, however, like the action and this has it. Sometimes in abundance. I am not sure if I will read book 2 or three. I have many other books I know are on my list and this one has not made me want to jump right into the next book.
The Celtic Spirit ~ Ria Cantrell

I have to first say that this book is very moving. I have not read a book like this in some time. I usually do not get so emotional with the sappy scenes but this time I could not help it. She draws you into the story so well that it’s like being right there. I have not read the first two books but boy will I. I loved this book so much.
It doesn’t have the action that I love so much but it has something that keeps you entranced in the book. The redemption of a man. His soul is on trial and he has to prove that he can redeem himself. I was sucked in from the first to the end. What he did as a person, you would normally want to die and move to hell, or other worldly place that evil people go to. But once you start reading you realize that even a man as evil as him might be saved. You start rooting for him and in the end start loving him as much as the writer wants you to and more.
As for the Heroine, she has trials of her own. She has lots of things to learn but mostly she has to open her heart if she can. She is stubborn and she might realize to late how she is making things worse for herself.
I usually don’t like to read books set in modern times. I like my Historical Romances in the past. There are a few however that I do enjoy, Karen M Moning, Donna Grant, and Melissa Mayhue to name a few. I can now add Ria Cantrell to this list. It is a historical Romance Paranormal, but set in modern times. You will feel the history even though you are reading it as it was today. There is a feeling in this book you cannot understand, but you just go with it.

The Highland Henchman ~ Amy Jarecki

What am I to say. My Bran is such a wonderful person. I am SO glad he turned out to be such a good lad. I loved the book. I had to force myself to read the end. I mean I can't make the book last forever. I did try though. The Highland Henchman is a 5-5-5-5 star book.

I loved the Heroine, she was strong and outgoing. Nothing kept her mouth shut, well almost nothing. lol She wanted something and she went for it. Sometimes that was not a good trait to have though.

Hero was just as awww as ever. He grew up and was nothing but a Strong, gentle, loving, kick ass kind of man. He loved deeply and fought brilliantly. He was so good with his Laird, and loved the Eagle.

The book started out good and ended good. If your looking for action, fun, surprises, traitors, and a kidnapping. Then this is your book. Oh and there is Romance thrown in there too.

Highland Eclipse (Eclipse Agents)  ~ Laura Hunsaker

For a short story this was really good. To be able to cover all aspects of love, plot, and action in such a short story, she did a really good job. I liked the H/H, they seemed believable. I like time travel as long as it stays true, I like reading of the past and this book, I think stayed, true to the era. I will have to add her books to my tbr list.

Valiant Chaos ~ Kathryn Le Veue

Let me start out by saying I did not read the original book For Love and Honor. I have however read this version of the book (Newly Named Valiant Chaos) and loved it immensely. I read the original ending and the new one. Both at the end of this book. I have to say both are good endings. So I will let you all decide if you like the new one or old ending.

Brogan d'Aurilliac is foreign born, his Father died when he was 10 yrs. His mother move to England and married an Englishman. He is a soldier for the King. Not educated, and very feared.

Avalyn du Brant is from a powerful family. The kind that makes kings and replaces Kings.

They both find something they were missing in each other. The book was good from beginning to end. The twists and road it takes you on will keep you wanting more. I like books that make me want to stay up all night and read it. This one does that.

The love, sorrow, humor, and action is a great combo, but then again it's Kathryn and she does do a great job in mixing it all up in a novel. I would like to go into details but it's hard without giving away the book. So with that said, I will not go into details but say this. Buy the book, read both endings and walk away happy. You get your cake and eat it too. What other book can you say has an alternate ending.

Healing a Highlander's Heart (Clan Grant #2) ~
I thought when I heard of she had a second book, how can she top the first one. Well she did. I loved it. Loving and caring. Two people who needed each other more than they even knew.

Her healing skills were put to test, and her thoughts of never loving also put to test. She never thought to love and her healing skills were well known in all of Scotland. A man desperate, in need of her skills. Willing to do what is needed and takes what is not his. Both heart and healing. But who was healing who?

I don't know what else to say. I had me thinking one way as it this a mystery/action/romance. When the end came and the findings known, I was blown away. I didn't even consider the ending at all. I love to be blown away. I like to read a mystery and wonder who done it. Then I start to feel ad because I was blaming others. I know now she did that on purpose.

If you are going to read a book, this one is it. I don't know what else to say except this book is just as good as the first one.

Just Beyond the Garden Gate ~ Dawn Marie Hamilton

What ever you do, do not drop this book. Yes it is a bit slow at the beginning, but it is very important information. Once you get to the past it picks up and is a very wonderful book. 4.5 Stars

I forget sometimes that I like being whisked away into Faery world and such. I felt it with this book. I love faeries, Fae, Witches an such, as long as they are historical. To see a strong woman, but submissive woman with this dominant man who is all intents and purposes, a chief in all senses of the word. It's hard for her since she has been around a man who is always dominant. Then to be thrown into this world and not feel chaos all around.

He is betrothed, a war with his betroths father if he doesn't marry. Faeries and brownies making mischief, But falling in love with a woman couple centuries older than he instead. How can this book not be good.

Yes she went hurling through time and dropped at his feet. Parents can be the most wonderful people, they don't interfere with your life....  lmao right they don't interfere....

You will love this book. ENDING is Awesome!!!

McKenna's Honor ~ Suzan Tisdale,

Wow where to start. If I didn't like this series already, this book would suck me in and have me buying all the previous books. I loved it, The book covered everything, Mystery, espionage, action, Oh and the humor. I also loved the ending. This book deserves a long and thought out review, but to do so from my opinion would be hard to say without giving away the book or making it soundless. I just don't have the ability to do it justice, so I will leave you with what I already said. It is more than a 5 star book.

The Highlander's Stolen Heart ~ Donna Fletcher

I don't know how she does it. BUT she just created another series I am just going to love. If I could give her 6/7/8 stars I would. I waited to read this book because I knew it would go to fast for me and I would be stuck waiting for the next one. Tis cool I will do what I always do with her books, read them again and again till the next one comes out.

I loved the story line. Mystery, Kidnapping, Fighting, and in the mix a man and a woman fall in love. This plain woman, no one see's as anything but ordinary,  and this big highlander who is possessive, protective and loving find out what it is like to love.

Like most of her books, once I start I cannot stop reading them. I get so caught up in the book that I jjust want to read til the end. I tried to set the book down. I didn't want to get to the end knowing there was another book not to far off to read.

She did not leave me hanging so I wouldn't get closier of the H/H in this book. I know there is a mystery to solve and will be in the next two books. I cannot wait to read them.

To Tame a Highland Earl ~ By Tarah Scott

I read this book, and it happens to be an author I really like. I really love all her other books that she put out, though this one not as much. It was too long, with the story line that it didn't seem to end. The banter back and forth, the not wanting to marry on both parts, running all over the place, and the kidnappings never seemed to stop. It seemed chaotic almost confusing. They liked each other but refused to admit it till the end. Finally when they did marry it seemed they still had the same issue's as before. Not willing to change, either of them.

There were good parts with this book as well. The Heroine was strong and capable. She made you want be her. She didn't take crap off no one and was willing to shoot someone for overstepping there boundaries. The Hero is a rake, and not willing to give up his lifestyle. Though he still had a level of Chivalry about him that he didn't want known. I did like the side Characters, they were funny and had you laughing at some thing. Though the book seemed to drag at times I do have to say that I did like it enough to give it 3.5 stars.

Rescued by a Highlander ~ By Keira Montclair

If you have issues with rape scenes or women being brutishly beaten then this is not your book, But if you are like me and realize this happened back then and was part of life, then this is your book to get.

I loved this book. I was so consumed the more I read. I felt like I was there feeling everything she felt. This book still remains with me to this day. I bought this book and read it last summer. It happens to be one of my Favorite and I don't have many on my FAV list. I am picky when I add them to my Fav list. The H/H were types you fell in love with and understood. The way the Clan leader protects and the honors her. I cannot say enough. The understanding how she reacts to men and how he is confused with his feelings.

I want to write so much more. To help you understand how great this book is. I would suggest this book to ANYONE. Its a must read. I am so happy to see the next book and have bought it. I can't wait to start reading it.

My Rebel Highlander ~ Vonda Sinclair

I can say, WITHOUT A DOUBT, that this book made me want to be his heroine in this story even more so. I just loved it. Rebbie never fails to be the best at anything. My Rebel Highlander by Vonda Sinclair, Author, is one of her best books to date. I could NOT put it down. It has everything you need in a book, ACTION, romance, chivalry, deception and so much more.
***** Stars
The Heroine is a young woman who has never known caring from a man. Her husband treated her as trash to be traded and discarded at his whim. Though he was never brutal to her, he was still an ass. The Hero is nothing but caring. He is also very protective and lethal. He is the kind of man you want in your corner if you have trouble.

I was hoping this book never ended. I wanted to just keep reading and reading. I was so happy that when all was said and done I walked away from this book knowing I still loved my favorite character. She did him justice. He continually saves her because she seemed to get into trouble, but not on purpose.
The whole book kept you reading from beginning to end. The base story was good, and the fact that old characters from the first few books were in it made it even more wonderful. Getting to catch up on them is always great to read.
If you are going to get into this series just know ahead of time you wont be disappointed in any of the books in this series.

Dragon Knights Sword ~ Mary Morgan

This is a very well done book. It is a Time Travel, action, learning to heal your heart Book. Duncan and Brigid, well they were thrown together but work off each other well. Brigid is reeling from thrown back in time 800 years. Duncan is the kind of man you want saving you. The chemistry is spot on and you will not be able to put this book down.

I have to say Brigid is a funny girl, mouthy too. Though in reality, if any of this happened to you, you would react the same way. I like that she received the sword and it helps with the whole of the story. It makes it more fun.

Duncan is trying to remove the curse he had placed on himself and his brothers. They are part of the Dragon Knights, the Keepers of ancient relics. Duncan want to give up his life to save his brothers from the curse. When he heads to the druid to find out what he needs to do to accomplish this, the druid lets him know, and Duncan doesn't like it. Duncan has a spacial ability and sometimes is too emotional to control it.

They have enemies they have to fight, and conquer. The side characters, LOVED them.I loved the book and can see this series a huge hit. I am so happy to have read this book and have a new author to add to my list. Watch out for this lady and keep updated on her books. It is so worth it. I mean Dragons, Druids, Fae and Highlanders all in one book. How can you go wrong.

Whispers on the Wind ~ Donna Fletcher

This was a wonderful book. It was a mystery and love story all rolled in one. You have the Heroin Billie, who lost her family (Mother, Step Father), sold everything and moved. She inherited a mansion from her stepfather’s uncle. Max is a ghost who has not went into the light. He is a rogue, and devilishly handsome, and until she is able to find the reason of his demise, he will haunt her. What she doesn’t realize is he not only haunts her room, but her heart as well. Then there is the Vicar John. The total opposite of Max, sweet, caring and would make a wonderful husband and father.

I really liked this book. The mystery and intrigue of it. How can you go wrong with 2 hunky men, 1 being a ghost, murder, and mystery? This book kept me reading till the end. I actually had to stop myself from reading the end first. I wanted to know who she ended up with and who the murderer was. I loved the dialog between them all, and the humor. I could not put this book down. She did a wonderful job of putting you in the book. You knew each person and felt like you were a part of the mystery solving. You loved who she did, laughed and hurt as Billie did.

I happen to be a HUGE fan of Donna’s, and love all her Scottish books. For me this was not one of my normal books, but loved it all the same.

Ilse of lies ~ Donna Fletcher

This book was action, family (love/hate), lies and deceit from the beginning.  It kept you on your feet the whole time. It was a mystery that you got involved in to solve. I am usually pretty good with those, so when I thought one way and found it was something else. I was surprised. I loved this book and couldn't put it down.

Ian and Moira have a horrible start. He has lied and deceived her. She feels betrayed and unloved. Tossed aside like she was by her father. He realizes his mistake but is it too late to heal that wound.

I will say that, when I read this book I was certain it was going to be a clan fight against clan. If you read from the start you would see why I thought that way. You know action, fighting, men going into battle and showing the other clan who is boss. Well this was actually a mystery. Don't get me wrong. The mystery is well done and keep you glued to the pages. The more you read of who didn't do it, who could have done it, you are engrossed and forgetting to eat your dinner or bath. Yup thats right, you want to get to the end. Then you want to read it again.

The H/H were great and if I had a man like Ian, well that would be my HEA.

Promised to the Highlander by Kate Robbins

Great book, well actually great doesn’t cover it quite right. I hate using awesome all the time and wonderful is not enough. I can say without a doubt that, if you read this book you will want to go and get the first book. It starts out with a betrothal that neither the man nor female are happy about. When you read this book, just start off knowing you will get upset, then you go into fits of anger and happy. You are like telling the book, “NO” this will not do. Then turns into sadness and you’re saying, omg no. Even though, you were against it beforehand. You can’t figure out how it will end and when the end finally comes, it hits you right where you want to be. That, things worked as they did. You’re happy, because your thoughts were being transported into Kate’s mind when she was writing this book. It was almost like she was reading your thoughts. This has everything you want in one book.

Highland Thunder ~ Lily Baldwin

The book takes place many years after the first one, as Ronan and Shoney are in there 50’s. It reminds you of the wonderful H/H in the first book and brings you on to the next generation.

This story is about Duncan and Brenna, and liked this book a lot. It seemed a bit different to me than other books I have read. This one has the hero cold, and almost cruel towards the Brenna. To all the other clansmen he is wonderful, caring, and funny. It is confusing and hurtful to Brenna, because he is her husband best friend. When she needs him the most, he isn’t there, emotionally, to help her. See her husband dies; she is grief stricken, and needs support. He gives the support but in a cold and mean way. He never meets hers eyes, demanding/cruel with her, and short with statements towards her.

Over the next chapters we find out why. We also see the potential for a wonderful bond between them grow, in a weird sort of way. It works well too. There is some mystery, you will have fun trying to figure out the “Who done it” part of it all. He also learns a lot about himself and she learns to bring her true hidden self out for everyone to see. I really enjoyed this book, and cannot wait till the next book.

The highland Temptation ~ Eliza Knight

I cannot stop for a minute. This book is so good. I love Jamie and Lorna. She is a spitfire and he is as handsome and chivalrous as ever. Neither are looking for marriage, but sometimes things don't go as you want.

Jamie is on his way north to get support for The Bruce campaign. When he stops at the Sutherland's clan to see what kind of support he can get from them. He has not been back there for 15 yrs. When he.... wait I will let you read that for your own.

Lorna is just as stubborn and doesn't want to get married until her brother (Magnus) forces her into admitting her feeling, if only to herself, through a betrothal to another man she doesn't love. Jamie and Lorna both like to bait each other and bicker. There is action, male ego, and so much more. There is so much to this book that you really wont put it down. For nothing else but to read them argue, bait each other and just have the best chemistry between two people. It's a fun read and has everything you want in a book.

Ned Hayes ~ Sinful Folk

This book reads from the first person point of view (She does listen to conversations around her, so it isn't all from her mind, you get to see what others are talking about around her). I wasn't sure at first how or if I would like it, but I find it works really well in this situation. I liked this book very much. It takes you through the trials and hardship of one mother's travel to get justice. The road she walked, grief she felt, the hardship they suffer. I could only walk with her as she told me her story. I listened as she listened to others around her and conversations talked as if she wasn't there. Then the twist happened, and I wont tell you what it is. I can say however, you really need to read this book. I can also say that this was a really emotional and enlightening ride. I will forever respect this book. Thank You Ned Hayes for the the story.

Laura Hunsaker ~ Highland Eclipse

For a short story this was really good. To be able to cover all aspects of love, plot, and action in such a short story, she did a really good job. I liked the H/H, they seemed believable. I like time travel as long as it stays true, and I like reading of the past. I think this book stayed true to the era. I will have to add her other books to my tbr list.

Tanya Anne Crosby ~ The MacKinnon's Bride

I love her books. I laughed, got angry and just had a great time reading this book. It has so much emotion, learning to love yourself enough to let some people go. Iain and Page learned that love and trust come in different people even small ones and ones you don't trust. The twist was perfect, and, well, just make sure to have Kleenex box next to you. If you are anything like me, I start to tear up when I laugh so hard. Lots of stuff in this book. You will not be disappointed in it.  It is a great book.

Karolyn Cairns ~ A Viking's Love

Although it did seem a little long in parts, I truly did like this book. It had some questionable stuff in it, but for me that only adds to the realism. By questionable I mean rapes and beatings, and stuff like that. Being in that ara you would know most of this happens anyways. So if you have problems with that don't read it, but you will have missed a really good book. I like bickering between H/H, fight scenes and humor. There is also fiery passion. So this book has something for everyone.

Valiant Chaos, by Kathryn Le Veque

Lord of Light By Kathryn Le Veque

This was an awesome book. I couldn't put it down. It does have some paranormal aspect to it but I don't think that "that" is the book. There were points in the book when I wanted to walk into it and slap a few people around. This tells me that the book had me so engrossed in the book that I felt like I was there. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. You will love this book and both H/H.

Highland Solution by Ceci Giltenan

This is the author’s first time out writing a historical romance, you won’t be disappointed either. This book is great. I loved all the characters, and the story line.
You think you would hate having an arranged marriage, but sometimes, things work out that way for the better. Even with evil uncles and stepmother on your back. The book has twists, turns and a great story line. When you are done reading this book, make sure to pick up the second one, Highland Courage (Highland Brides). You will love both of them.

Beyond Forever by Debra Dier

This is a really good book. Its starts out a bit slow but once she goes back in time, it does pick up. It's like having your cake and eating it too. You get to read about someone living two lives and what happens in both. The story has everything, love, mystery, and murder. Gavin you will just fall in love with. And in the end you walk away with closure.

Captured by the Pirate Laird (Highland Force) by Amy Jarecki

I can't wait for the next book (Which is on my Kindle now). The H/H Calum/Anne worked well together and you fell in love with them immediately. Bran is a doll which I really liked. Rorie was someone I hoped he would have been. I was a bit worried for Anne at first when those two met but like I said he turned out to be someone I hoped he was. Amy Jarecki made a really good book and I stayed up extremely late trying to finish it off, but not wanting it to end. Anyway Thank You for the prize (I won the book on FB) I loved reading it.

Highland Fire (Guardians of the Stone) Tanya Anne Crosby

First I want to say, can I have an Una of my own PLEASE (You wil find out who when you read i). OK, the book, Tanya just about killed me. I wanted to get to the end so badly but hate reading ahead. Then again I didn't want it to end either. Man that was an awesome ride Tanya took me on. I loved how Aidan and Lileas were with each other through the whole book. There were a few places I was laughing. I was completely engrossed and couldn't put it down. There was enough deception, intrigue, honor, loyalty and love in this book that everyone should enjoy it. Of her books Once Upon a Kiss is my fav, now this one is contending with it.

Serpent: Sequel to THE WOLFE (De Wolfe Pack)
April 30, 2014

The Serpent was a perfect part of this book. I think it would have been less of a read had it not been in the book. The fact that De Wolfe's family is a part of this book, well it just adds to the whole of it.
You get excited to be able to read about them even though it is years later.

Then you meet his daughter and De Shera and think back to The Wolfe and realize that the only person for his daughter, this Warlords daughter, is someone who is a Warlord. That only this type would be able to understand and love her the way she needs to be loved and cared for.

I liked all the characters. The story kept my nose stuck in the book, she drew me in and I as a reader never had a chance of walking away from it.

The Honor of a Highlander (The MacKinnon Clan)
April 17, 2014

I was not disappointed after reading this book. It has action, romance, chivalry, humor, and lots more. The characters are spot on, I can't say enough about this book. Why am I praising it so? Well because I honestly didn't think it would be a great book. So I was happily surprised by it. I couldn't put it down, this book had me from the beginning to end. I enjoyed Annella, she is feminine but has a little tom boy in her. Rory is Alpha male but is so gentle when it comes to Annella. This series is worth reading.

Escape To The Highlands: The MacKinnon Clan Series
May 06, 2014

Great book, April had me going there for a while and I wasn't sure what was gonna happen next. Jacqueline & Ewan have a great dialog. I liked that all the main characters from the first book made an appearance in this second book. It had just enough of everything in this book that it should satisfy everyone. The twists were amazing, I really never seen them coming.
