Tell me, is there anything you would do differently in writing books? Is their something new you would like to see written or such? Let these, and all authors know, what is it that you are looking for when you read a story. What would make you stop and say Holy Moly, that's it, I died and gone to heaven?
I would love for someone to do a story about Llewellyn & Princess Joanna(King John's daughter). Bring a little more Welsh to the scene...Or a Welsh Princess & a Highlander would be nice Other then that these ladies writing is perfection & you can't improve upon that...Have a great week Kimi
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, since I just found out I have lots of Welsh in me. Thanks for stopping by
DeleteI would like to see more books centered around poor people instead of them always centering around the upperclass!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome idea. Thank You for stopping by
DeleteSo would I! Lots of plot possibilities that aren't being used. And it's easier for me to identify with a poor heroine rather than a rich one. And fall in love with a hero who has something going for him other than wealth and power.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimi. Actually, I AM writing a romance. And it's way off the beaten path!
ReplyDeleteHere are some of the things I'd like to see in rom fic. You can bet they're in my work!
1. A hero who doesn't need redemption. He has more interesting issues. What's more interesting? IMHO, almost anything.
2. A heroine who isn't feisty. Shucks, she's not even strong! At first. I ask you: who's more interesting? A heroine who's strong from the start, or one who BECOMES strong?
3. The hero and heroine love each other early on. They don't wait until the last chapter to declare their love. For them falling in love is easy. But complications follow.
4. No sex scenes. IMHO, if you've read one, you've read 'em all. To me, what goes on in the characters' hearts and minds is more interesting than what happens farther south.
5. Other characters matter. One of my pet peeves is romances in which the focus on the hero and heroine is so tight that anyone else is just a spear-carrier. And the focal couple are never apart. In my story they're apart quite a bit of the time. The obstacles to their love are that great.
6. Which leads me to the last point. The hero and the heroine each do something extraordinary for love. A love that, it seems, can never be fulfilled---until it is, by great effort and courage. That's what moves me the most in other romances. And how I hope to move my readers, if I get any.
Good luck!
Holy Moly, I love number 4, you are so right. Thank You for stopping by Miss Mary
