1. Tell us about yourself?

I live in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada with my hubby and two awesome boys, I work as a public servant and I write Scottish historical romance novels in my spare time. I have only been writing novels since 2008 and so have happened upon this late in life, but absolutely adore creating stories and characters out of pieces of history that spark my interest.

2. Tell us about your unreleased book, or just released book?

Promised to the Highlander (PTTH) is the second in my Highland Chiefs series and released May 30th. The first, Bound to the Highlander (BTTH), came out last October and has done far better than in my wildest dreams. :) PTTH is a love triangle between Fergus MacKay, his brother William, and William’s intended, Nessia Stephenson. This book felt like it wrote itself and I was just the fingers tapping it out on the keyboard. I think it’s different than the first one, filled with more yearning somehow. And that Fergus just would not leave me alone until his story was out. That’s warriors for you, such a demanding lot. ;-)

3. When naming your characters, do you give any thought to the actual meaning?

Sometimes. I mostly look for names what would have existed during a particular time period. Because my novels focus on specific clans I will often look down through the list of chiefs to see if a name catches my attention. For the heroines in my books, I usually look up ancient female Scottish names and pick one from there.

4. What book of yours of course, would you want made into a movie and who would play the main
characters, or would you want to wait till the series done first?

Oh my. I think the top of my head would fly off it any book/story of mine was to ever be made into a movie. I can’t even go there, seriously. That would be too much. LOL However, I can tell you that the late Andy Whitfield is very much my image of James MacIntosh in BTTH, and I’ve yet to see a true Fergus in real life (my husband is happy about this too for some reason :D). Book three is called Enemy of the Highlander and the hero, Ronan Sutherland, is a lot like Jason Momoa. Book four is called Prisoner of the Highlander and the hero in that one, Angus MacDonald, looks like Chris Hemsworth from Snow White and the Huntsman, ya know, gritty. I don’t have an image in my head yet for Rory MacKenzie in book five. Will be sure to share when I do! :D

5. What is your favorite book, or the "one" book that inspired you to write?

That’s easy. The first Scottish historical romance novel I ever read was Johanna Lindsey’s A Gentle Feuding. LOVE that book so much. I’m also a huge Julie Garwood fan and have read and reread The Bride and The Wedding many times.

6. Do you have any tips for our readers that might dream of writing?

Oh yes! Just do it! You are only limited by your imagination and determination. If I can do this anyone can!

7. Tell us anything you want?

I want a new house, and a new car, and a man servant. Oh! That’s not what you meant. Ahem. I want to tell you that all of you who have been buying my book, and talking about it, and encouraging me,
are all ROCK STARS in my eyes. I have met so many amazing people during all this and I feel truly blessed. Thank you so much for having me Kimi!!!! You’re awesome, lady!
